Our small and intimate community includes 56 single story residences (there are no steps at Horizon Village). The community is built on 6 acres with views of trees and surrounding hills, and a small creek passes through the village with plenty of places where you can discover nature at your door step. We're constantly being reminded by our residents that we're simply the best place to retire to.

Top Ten Reasons Why People Move To Horizon Village

There are a lot of reasons why people move to Horizon Village, but the most common are listed here.

    1. They want to live a simple and fulfilling life near neighbors who are active and have similar interests and goals. They also want neighbors who know how to respect privacy yet still look out for one another.
    2. They don’t want to depend on their children or relatives to help them with changing light bulbs, air conditioning filters, assisting with hanging pictures, and other similar upkeep.
    3. They are independent adults who are not ready for assisted living, and they don’t want to be in a “big box” apartment complex.
    4. They want someone else to take care of all maintenance, landscaping and yard work.
    5.  They want want to keep a pet.  (Horizon Village loves pets)
    6. They want to live economically yet comfortably. A common scenario at Horizon Village is a person or couple who depends on a limited retirement income and may rely on the sale or rental of their former home to augment their retirement.
    7. They want time to pursue personal projects or travel without having to worry about maintaining their home base.
    8. They realize that their physical needs will evolve. Horizon Village homes are accessible for physically challenged individuals - all units are wheelchair accessible and substantially compliant with the ADA (Americans with Disability Act).
    9. They want security in the neighborhood, and want to be surrounded by people who look out for their neighbors. The old saying, “there is safety in numbers” appeals to them. (Horizon Village has security patrols.)
    10. They want to socialize, have a choice about neighborhood activities, and get involved if they choose to. Horizon Village has a community/recreation room in which workshops, presentations and social events are held.
